1. Commitment
People Building wants Tupolis to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including disabled and neurodivergent users and people using assistive technologies. Accessibility is an ongoing development responsibility.
2. Approach
We aim, where reasonably practicable, to support clear navigation, readable text, suitable contrast, meaningful headings, keyboard use, labelled forms, understandable errors, alternatives to colour-only meaning, accessible media, responsive/mobile use and reduced unnecessary complexity.
3. Standards
Recognised accessibility principles, including WCAG, are used as a reference. Tupolis has not necessarily undergone a complete independent audit and does not currently claim formal conformance with a particular WCAG level unless testing supports that claim.
4. Cognitive/neurodiversity considerations
We aim for predictable navigation, clear language/instructions, manageable information, consistency and avoidance of unnecessary distractions or time pressure.
5. Video and older content
We aim to improve captions, subtitles, transcripts or alternatives where reasonably practicable. Older materials may be less accessible and will be improved progressively according to impact and feasibility.
6. Documents and interactive features
Some PDFs/downloads may present accessibility barriers. Quizzes/forms should be reviewed for keyboard use, clear controls, readable results, errors and unnecessary time limits. Alternative formats or adjustments may be considered where a barrier prevents meaningful access.
7. Third-party services
Accessibility of YouTube/Google and other external services is not fully controlled by People Building. Where an external dependency creates a significant barrier to essential Tupolis content, we will consider a reasonable alternative.
8. Children and future AI
Child areas should consider age-appropriate language, cognitive load, readability and motor/sensory needs. Future AI must also be reviewed for keyboard/screen-reader use, clear AI identity, accessible errors/safety messages and alternatives.
9. Reporting barriers
Contact info@peoplebuilding.co.uk with subject Tupolis Accessibility, identifying the page/feature, problem, device/browser/assistive technology if relevant, and what would help. Medical proof is not required simply to report a problem.
10. Testing and improvement
Accessibility work may include automated testing, keyboard/manual review, screen-reader testing, device testing and user feedback. Automated scores alone do not prove accessibility.
