1. Who this notice is for

Some Tupolis programmes are designed to be watched or used by children. This notice explains, in straightforward language, how information connected with child use is handled.

2. Parent-controlled access

Children do not independently create ordinary Tupolis accounts under the current model. A parent or guardian creates or controls the account and the child accesses programme content through it.

3. Information connected with child use

Depending on the programme, Tupolis may record lessons or videos accessed, progress, completed modules, quiz/assessment answers and scores, and technical information needed to provide and secure the service.

We aim not to ask for a child's email address, date of birth, postal address or other identifying details simply to provide the learning programme where they are unnecessary.

4. High privacy by default

Child-facing processing should use high-privacy defaults. We aim to collect only the minimum information needed for the part of the service the child is using, avoid unnecessary profiling, avoid behavioural advertising, and avoid making child information visible to other users.

5. Sensitive topics

A child may watch content about anxiety, mental health, behaviour or wellbeing. Watching that content does not automatically mean Tupolis creates a medical diagnosis or clinical record about the child.

6. Parents and children's rights

A parent may help a child exercise privacy rights, but a child has their own data-protection rights. The appropriate response depends on age, understanding, parental responsibility, safeguarding and the nature of the information.

7. Safeguarding

Tupolis is not an emergency or continuously monitored safeguarding service. If a concern actually comes to the attention of People Building personnel, it may be handled under relevant safeguarding procedures. Immediate danger requires appropriate emergency action rather than waiting for a Tupolis response.

8. Future AI

No integrated AI assistant is currently live. Before child access to any future AI is enabled, People Building must review privacy, safeguarding, age-appropriate design, data minimisation, crisis responses and human oversight. AI must not be presented to a child as a human friend, therapist or substitute parent.

9. Third parties

Where a child-facing feature depends on another service, People Building should minimise information disclosed and consider the child's best interests. Optional third-party sharing or tracking should not be on by default without a compelling, documented reason.

10. Retention and deletion

Child-related ordinary learning data is retained only for appropriate periods and is distinct from separate professional/safeguarding records. See the Account Deletion & Data Retention Notice.

11. Questions

Parents, guardians and children can contact info@peoplebuilding.co.uk about privacy or data rights. We will aim to explain matters in a way appropriate to the person asking.
